Chief Hall also mentioned that all the counties which surround Davidson county have now signed up for the 287(g) program although it is quite a long process between requesting inclusion and actually getting the program up and running.
This only enforces what we have been saying for YEARS now - if someone doesn't respect our Nation's laws of entry, what makes anyone assume they will respect or follow other laws once they are here?
While officials in Springfield acknowledged the growing immigrant population in town does cause some problems, they pointed out that immigrants are also a vital part of the local economy. Springfield's Mayor, Billy Carneal said he has seen the immigrant population grow by leaps and bounds. He is especially concerned with increased traffic accidents involving alcohol.
" Where they are most heavily involved was in automobile accidents and things related to that sometimes. The DUI area and that sort of thing. They have contributed very heavily to that sort of thing," said Mayor Carneal. (remarks are from News Channel 5 - link )
What Mr. Carneal evidently doesn't want to admit is that while legal immigrants MAY be "vital to the economy" (probably due to the fact that Robertson County is Tennessee's largest tobacco growing area and is among the top five counties in the production of wheat, corn, and hay.) the ILLEGAL ALIENS are certainly NOT as they overwhelm schools, hospitals and jails along with harming LEGAL residents when they go out and drive around while intoxicated (something the mayor, surprisingly does see fit to mention). This ELECTED official needs to be made to understand that while Americans welcome LEGAL immigrants, we want the ILLEGAL ones GONE and we don't care how much he THINKS they somehow contribute to something positive. The negatives MUCH more than outweigh any positive contributions. To contact Mr. Carneal (should you be so inclined to do so):

Those of you who live in Springfield and/or Robertson County need to let Mayor Carneal know that you're more interested in the lives and tax dollars of LEGAL residents and citizens than you are about the profit margins of those who are employing these illegal aliens.
Okay, we’re back from a short hiatus after the (sh)amnesty bill went down in flames in the U. S. Senate. Looks like the coffee-break is over, however, as it seems the opposition never rests (having big bucks from corporate donors helps in this area). Just during the past week, the pro-open borders crowd and their supports in the U.S. Congress have devised new ways to effectively shaft the American people in the hopes that we aren’t still paying attention.
According to CapWiz, an amendment has been added to the Farm Bill reauthorization that will provide an amnesty for illegal aliens engaged in agricultural work and their spouses and children. This amendment also relaxes the standards for H-2A agricultural guest worker visas.
The second subversive proposal is adding the DREAM act to the Department of Defense Spending bill (HR-1585) that is currently being debated in the Senate.
We encourage EVERYONE to get back on those phones and tell our Senators and Representatives that we are STILL watching and will NOT tolerate ANY bill, amendment or provision that grants ANY benefit to those illegally within our borders.
As a side note, The U. S. Department of Health and Human Services is now attempting to aide those who came here illegally through the utilization of ‘coyotes’ (illegal alien guides) by calling them ‘victims of human trafficking’. Since when does someone who PAYS a smuggler become a victim? Here’s the email that was sent out by another new pro-illegal alien organization here in Nashville:
You are cordially invited to attend the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Rescue and Restore Victims of Human Trafficking campaign kick-off to raise awareness of the issue of human trafficking and highlight your organization’s critical role in combating this hideous crime.
We will officially launch the Nashville Rescue and Restore coalition on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 with a morning press conference followed by an afternoon training session at the Sheraton Nashville Downtown hotel.
During the press conference, HHS will recognize members of the Nashville coalition and ensure that local media attending are aware of your participation in helping victims affected by trafficking.
The interactive training will focus on specialized technical assistance including, but not limited to:
Victim identification strategies;
How to connect victims to services; and
Local awareness activities.
The following are details of the day’s free events to help you plan your attendance:
DATE/TIME: Tuesday, July 17, 2007
LOCATION: Sheraton Nashville Downtown – Capitol Ballroom
Nashville, TN 37219
We hope you will share this invitation with other individuals or community organizations that may be interested in attending. To RSVP your attendance to the press conference and training, please contact Emily Favret via email at Ketchum Public Relations at Emily.Favret@ketchum.com or by telephone at (202) 835-7265.
It seems that not only are private corporations and businesses supporting the demise of our Nation but, the very federal agencies that we are forced to support through taxation are also aiding and abetting the Balkanization of our Nation.
This event follows closely on the heels of the announcement by Rep. Steve King (R-IA) that the U.S. government is probably the biggest employer of illegal aliens in the country!!
People, we are being sold down the river to usher in the North American Union and it WILL come to fruition unless YOU get involved and stay in contact with our elected officials. Remember, too many times these officials never even read the bills and amendments they vote for – some staffer reads them and then makes a recommendation as to how the officials should vote. We cannot let these bills and amendments slip under the congressional radar and, by placing calls and sending emails and faxes, we CAN stop this insanity in its tracks. Contact Tennessee members of Congress here.
On this blog on June 21st, we posted infomation regarding an upcoming conference in Brentwood, TN. We must apologize for the confusion. We were sent a flyer and it now appears that it was, in fact, an old flyer (why the person who forwarded it to us was just now receiving it from TIRRC is beyond us right now). In any case, the conference has evidently already taken place. Here's the funny part --- instead of someone simply informing us that the information was incorrect, the open-borders lobby decided to write a big tirad against it and TnRIP in general. Here's the blog entries where they 'claim' to discredit us (for making a ....gasp!!.....human error).....
The folks at Tennesseans for Reprehensible Immigration Policies have a post up on their fancy new blog calling Fabian Bedne, District 31 Council candidate, anti-American. Now, Bedne is an Argentine immigrant (just like my Grandmother), so TNRIP obviously have their sights set on him as it is. But now he's gone too far, in participating in a press conference that says (gasp!) immigrants aren't a drain on taxpayers.
Can you believe the insidiousness of his anti-American ways? The good folks at TNRIP let us know about one example of a tax draining immigrant:
Just last winter, News Channel 5 did a sob story piece about an illegal alien minor (and his non-English speaking mother who had to speak through an interpretor) who was found to have cancer and, while I certainly wouldn't wish that on ANY child or parent, guess who was paying the bills....that's right....you and I because, since he is a minor, he was signed up for TennCare.
Boo-hoo...some lil' kid gets cancer and we have to shell out money for him? Pssst...I say do a blood test and if they don't have Red, White, and Blue (and not the French stuff) pumping through their veins, I say send 'em back to Mehico to get some of them voodoo doctors to treat him.
In all seriousness though. TNRIP is mad at Bedne and TIIRC for holding their own press conference to counter-act another of Marsha's rallies against illegal immigrants. At her last one, the TennCare administrator already admitted that illegal immigrants cost Tenncare, to the tune of...hold on...15 million dollars. That is .002% of the budget, and if you use FAIR's numbers for how many undocumented immigrants are in Tennessee, they use far less in Tenncare funds than their US born counterparts. And considering they pay Tennessee State taxes, its only fair that they should have a small portion spent on their (in this case their kids) health care.
Be sure to read the whole TNRIP post to see their venom and hatred spew forth onto the screen.
Damnit Sean...what have I told you about trusting the folks at TNRIP? Apparently this press conference that is supposed to take place August 10th already occured...last year. I had a chance to talk to Fabian Bedne this Saturday at Jackson Day, and he informed me that, like usually, TNRIP had their facts wrong.
Please pay special attention to the text I highlighted in red above. That's 15 MILLION that should be going to a LEGAL resident instead of to illegal aliens!! This doesn't even take into account any medical costs associated with the anchor babies who are magically considered American citizens simply by virture of location of their birth!! I feel safe in assuming tha the costs for them are WAAAY over 15 million per year! Of course, none of the grougps that Mr. Sean Braisted seems to be affliiated with will want to address that particular 'little' issue.
I'd also be interested to know why candidate Fabian Bedne 'told' this poster that 'like usually, TnRIP had their facts wrong".....yep, we got this press conference date wrong but I'd like to see them refute any of the FACTS contained on the website, especially the number of Tennesseans that are being killed on our roads and murdered by illegal aliens who shouldn't be here in the first place. It's not that we 'hate' any of these people who are here illegallly, we simply want them to go back where they came from until they can be properly vetted and come here the right way. If they don't respect this Nation's laws to come here, we simply cannot believe they will respect either us or our laws once they arrive and, as the news stories from across the Country point out...they don't!
The vote for Cloture has just failed the Senate. The following traitors need to be remembered and removed from office at the FIRST possible opportunity!

Senators Alexander and Corker have made good on their words to vote against this travesity of a bill!! We need to THANK THEM BOTH profusely (postive reinforcement and all that). Sen. Brownback (who is a presidential candidate) first voted YEA and then, went the bill was obviously going to fail, switched his vote to NAY to be on the winning side! Don't fall for his saying later that he was against cloture!!
Now we will need to maintain our watch to make sure that none of this vampiric bill is resurrected via amendments to other bills...something this is certainly not out of the rhelm of possibilities given these traitors propensity for subversion of our Nation.
Take a deep breath...enjoy Independence Day by celebrating the fact that "We the People" ARE still in charge when we stick together and make our voice heard!!! Good job America!!! Long live the Republic!!
Source: Ron Paul campaign
Here is not only a principled man who will do everything within his power to secure our National borders as well as having the backbone to go out on the proverbial limb to try and end the mis-interpretation of the 14th Amendment granting 'birthright citizenship' to any baby lucky enough to be birthed on our soil (an Amendment, BTW, that was signed into law to protect the newly freed slaves after the Civil War, not to apply to the offspring of illegal aliens). This man wants to bring our troops home and use them to protect our own borders instead of every other country on the planets' borders -- Geez!! What a concept!!
The only other candidate that even comes CLOSE to Congressman Ron Paul is Congressman Tom Tancredo and, while I absolutely adore him on a number of issues, he isn't as well-versed in the proper, Constitutional powers of the federal government as Dr. Paul. Don't even get me started on Fred Thompson - he's no friend of the working class. In fact: He also voted for the No Child Left Behind Act and the McCain-Feingold Act. He voted for increasing benefits to workers who have been displaced due to increased imports, voted for many tens of billions of dollars in foreign aid, and he voted to double the President’s salary. (On a side note, Mr. Thompson’s penchant for having the federal government underwrite insurance appears to predate his term in the Senate, going back to his lobbying efforts for the Tennessee Savings and Loan. I would ask Mr. Thompson how extending government support of the S&L industry through the FDIC figured into his concern for the principle of federalism).
This is NOT the voting record of someone who has read or understood the U.S. Constitution! Compare his record to that of Congressman Paul:
Paul also voted for a Constitutional amendment that mandated a two-thirds vote in both Houses of Congress in order to increase taxes (requirement waived if war is declared), voted against McCain-Feingold, against No Child Left Behind, and against the Medicare Prescription Drug Bill.
Given the current crop of traitors in the U.S. Senate, many of whom we'll be stuck with for almost 6 more years, it is my humble opinion that we need a man with integrity who will hold both houses of Congress accountable to the U.S. Constitution and who wants the U.S. to remain a soverign nation. Something else that Mr. Thompson voted for was NAFTA (the precursor to the SPP Agreement which is, even as you read this, being carried forward to merge the U.S., Mexico and Canada).
I know it may be a bit early to start concentrating on the '08 elections but, given the recent insanity in the U.S. Congress, this does less harm to my blood pressure than constantly dwelling on the (sh)amnesty bill, especially when I SERIOUSLY doubt that it wil get past the U.S. House.
In a press conference earlier today, President Bush obviously experienced a Freudian slip of the tongue and admitted that the 'Comprehensive Immigration Reform" is, in fact, an amnesty (despite all his previous denials of same):
abcnews.com ^ | 06/26/07 | abcnews/political-radar
ABC News' Rick Klein reports: President Bush has spent a whole lot of time in recent months claiming that the immigration bill isn't "amnesty." But in describing the measure Tuesday morning, an apparent slip of the tongue suggested otherwise -- providing fodder for the talk-radio crowd that loathes the bill and wants it defeated in the Senate. "You know, I've heard all the rhetoric -- you've heard it, too -- about how this is amnesty. Amnesty means that you've got to pay a price for having been here illegally, and this bill does that," Bush said, according to the official...
Even with the cat of the bag, 64 treasonous Senators voted in favor of allowing this AMNESTY bill to proceed to the floor of the Senate for further debate against the overwhelming wishes of the American public. Thankfully, Tennessee can, at least temporarily, be proud of Senators Alexander and Corker who voted NAY on the vote to allow Cloture as both promised in their press release of last week (see post below).

There will be another Clouture vote coming up (probably around Thursday of this week) and we MUST call and email ALL the Senators who voted against Cloture (which would have killed this vampire of a bill yet again) to say THANK YOU and keep up the good work!
Those of you who live in districts represented by the traitors to the American public that voted Yea on this bill also need to get on the phones to remind these traitors who they were sent to D.C. to represent!! If continue to fail to represent America, then they need to be sent packing at the first available opportunity.
Pay special attention to those who are seeking the Republican and Democratic nominations for President in '08. Any Senator who would vote FOR this bill does NOT deserve to hold ANY public office, much less the highest office in the land. They would be:
We The People MUST not allow ourselves to have the short memories that the traitors will be counting on once the primaries roll around. DO YOUR HOMEWORK and THROW THESE TRAITORS OUT of office!!!
In an attempt to confuse angry voters who have been calling and emailing their U.S. Senators telling them what will happen to their political careers if they voted for Senate bill 1348 (the Kennedy/McCain amnesty bill), certain senators have found a way to tell their angry constituents that the bill is dead - they changed a few words here and there and gave it a new number - Senate bill 1639. Don't be fooled by this old bait and switch! It still contains ALL the amnesty provisions contained in the first bill The 'new' bill also still contains the provision to further the SPP agreement which integrates the U.S. with Mexico and Canada. Section 413 contains the following:
It is the sense of Congress that the United States and Mexico should accelerate the implementation of the Partnership for Prosperity to help generate economic growth and improve the standard of living in Mexico, which will lead to reduced migration…
So much for 'secure borders'. What these fools want to do is send MORE of YOUR tax dollars to Mexico to try to discourage 'migration' to the north instead of simply building the fence which was authorized last year in Congress but still isn't getting built. Everyone needs to take a CLOSE look at the U.S. Constitution and realize that NOWHERE in that document is the power or authority for Congress to take YOUR money and send it to ANY foreign country for ANY reason. That's what charity is for - you support the ones that YOU want to - not the ones that are expedient for those in power to further their desires.
Something else that has surfaced over the last week or so and that practically no one (even on the Internet) is talking about is the fact that IF these untold millions of illegal aliens are magically legalized, the vast majority of them will immediatly become eligible for workplace and education preference under Affirmative Action laws because most of the illegals here are considered to be in 'minority' groups!! If you think the illegals are already causing white and black under-employment, as the old saying goes, you ain't seen nothing yet!
Looks like we've still got our work cut out for us. GWB is going to continue putting pressure on our senators and representatives as long as he's in office because he sees this massive amnesty as his 'legacy'. I, however, see the stopping of same as my children's inheritance and plan to do everything within my power to guarantee it for them even if I have to set aside time out of every single day to call, fax and email my representatives to keep them on the side of the American people instead of on the side of the White House administration and their globalist handlers!!
Remember, government is NOT a spectator sport. For it to work, YOU must get engaged and involved!
Senator Corker seems to be trying to actually live up to his campaign promises regarding illegal aliens (so far). He has voted against this bill before and also has a press release on his website today (find it here) stating his intention to vote NO on Cloture.
Our heartfelt thanks go to both Senators if they continue to actually represent the wishes of their constituentency by opposing any and all bills containing any sort of amnesty for illegal aliens.
Our next step is to encourage all of our elected offcials in D. C. to insist on enforcement of existing immigration laws and to support a bill that ends the mis-interpretation of the 14th Amendment that grants birth-right citizenship to the offspring of illegal aliens. As soon as that particular cash-cow is removed, maybe our maternity rooms along the southern border will be able to re-open for local residents and chain-migration will drastically slow.
The battle is FAR from over. We are only holding steady right now as opposed to being able to move forward. Just remember: any time you compromise, you LOSE something.
NO COMPROMISE ON AMNESTY.
ENFORCE EXISTING LAWS.
END BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP
END CHAIN MIGRATION
A local anti-American group, TIRRC (Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition) in conjunction with the Coalition for Comprehensive Immigration Reform have teamed up try and derail Senator Marsha Blackburn's townhall meeting on illegal alien's impact on healthcare. The townhall meeting is scheduled for Friday, August 10, at 9:30 a.m. These anti-American groups are saying that since illegal aliens SUPPOSEDLY don't have access to TennCare that they do not impact health care costs in Tennessee. Nothing could be further from the truth!! While the 'powers that be' will tell you that illegals have no access to TennCare, it is a known fact and has even been reported on local TV news, some illegals DO receive benefits for which they should not be eligible under TennCare and other taxpayer funded programs. Anyone care to guess how much his treatment was and is costing Tennessee taxpayers when he should, instead, have been sent back to Mexico for his treatments? Even if we leave our TennCare and other taxpayer funded programs out of the equation, Americans and legal residents are still ultimately paying the bills for the care of illegals who utilize our hospital emergency rooms and low-income clinics on a daily basis. As we all know, hospital emergency rooms and critical care facilities cannot refuse treatment to anyone no matter their ability to pay or their immigration status so, what happens is, they show up for every little ailment at our emergency rooms, get treated and then, never pay the bill. The costs for their care are then passed along to the legal folks through higher healthcare costs and insurance rates. This is why hospitals all along our southern border are going out of business or, at least, having to close their emergency rooms and maternity wards. Of course, groups such as TIRRC and the CCIR don't want to talk about these things. They only want to address the illegal's 'lack of access to actual government funded programs'. Typical of the open borders crowd that try to keep the actual costs hidden and obscured.
Something else of interest that was included in the announcement sent out by the above two groups is that they have scheduled a press conference to try and counter-act Representative Blackburn's townhall meeting. One of the scheduled speakers at that press conference is Nashville City Council, District 31, candidate, Fabian Bedne, who also just happens to be affiliated with the "Tennesse Hispanic Voters Coalition". The topic for his press conference speech is "Why scapegoating immigrants is not in politicians' best interests". I just love the way they try to lump LEGAL immigrants and ILLEGAL aliens in together to try and make the latter seem more palpatable to the public. Mr. Bedne is running against Parker Toler for the District 31 Council seat - spread the word about where Mr. Bedne's loyalties lie so he can't push his anti-American agenda from a public office!!
If you can make arrangements to attend Representative Blackburn's townhall meeting, please do so as we need as many people as possible to show up and support her valiant efforts to rid our state and nation of the illegal invaders!
